Drawnion 드로우니언 (2025~)

“Drawnion” is a project that combines the characteristics of three-dimensional drawing using dots and lines with onion skin, an animation technique. This project delivers the overall impression of landscapes and figures by layering abstracted graphs and contour lines that reflect the narrative and sculptural elements of the work.
*Onion skin is a method used to check motion by overlaying previous and next frames on thin, transparent layers—like onion peels.

‘드로우니언’은 점과 선을 이용한 입체 드로잉의 특성을, 애니메이션 기법 중 하나인 ‘어니언 스킨(onion skin)’과 접목한 프로젝트이다. 어니언 스킨은 움직임을 확인하기 위해 앞뒤 장면을 양파껍질처럼 얇은 종이에 겹쳐보는 방식이다. 이 프로젝트는 작품의 서사, 조형적 특징 등을 추상화된 그래프나 등고선 형태로 겹쳐 배치함으로써, 풍경과 인물의 전반적인 인상을 전달한다.

The Knitting Drawing series reveals fleeting forms that emerge and dissolve through nuanced shifts in color and density, created using gouache and a classic dip pen. Each piece begins at a single point, then unravels like loose threads, expanding the realm of depiction in unpredictable ways. Sometimes the process starts with pure abstraction; other times, it draws from fabric or the human body—but always with restraint, avoiding overt representation.

‘뜨개질 드로잉’ 시리즈는 클래식 펜촉에 과슈 물감을 개어, 색채와 농도의 변화를 통해 사라지거나 나타나는 형상을 드러낸다. 이미지가 시작되는 지점에서부터, 마치 섬유가 무작위로 풀려나가듯 묘사의 영역이 확장된다. 때로는 완전한 추상의 상태에서 그림이 출발하고, 때로는 옷감이나 인체를 모티프로 삼되, 형태가 노골적으로 드러나지 않도록 절제된 마무리를 지향한다.
